Last Saturday night, I was awarded first prize during the Silver Anniversary celebration of the company I’m currently working for (my day job), for winning the Anniversary Logo Design Competition. Actually, I knew that I was the winner of the contest a few weeks back, since we had to use the winning logo for the anniversary preparations (posters, audio-visual presentations, letterheads, invitations, and the like).
What surprised me was the special prize, which I thought was just a few measly K’s. It turned out that the contest was patterned after the usual logo/poster design contest prizes. Cool, more moolah for me.
I didn’t expect this logo to win, as I was betting on my other entries which I spent a lot more time and energy on. It just occurred to me to create one last logo with the ultimate simple look, since I analyzed that the senior executive officers of the corporation were, well… senior. And this meant a more conservative outlook on aesthetics.
Obviously, my theory was right.
Anyway, that’s just for sharing. The logo will of course become the property of the company. The overtime hours for the anniversary preparations were worth it.
Happy 25th Anniversary Team Pacific Corporation!
